Ashley is a former caseworker and spent the bulk of her career working as a social services consultant before joining the team at Hope in Northern Virginia Inc. As a consultant, she helped organizations that served others do so more effectively, and she is excited to bring those skills to her role as Executive Director.
Ashley credits her desire to serve in pro-life ministry to her Christian faith and inspiration from a former client who, despite her young age and pressure from the baby’s father to abort, had the courage to choose LIFE. She is excited to join an organization that comes alongside women of all circumstances and encourages them to make that same courageous choice.
Ashley has always found opportunities to volunteer in the public health arena. From teaching healthy eating curriculum to elementary schoolers, to helping build self-esteem and healthy relationships skills in an after-school program for at-risk middle school girls. She came across Hope in 2019 while living in Falls Church and began volunteering shortly after.
She has since moved to Gainesville, Virginia where she and her husband attend Park Valley Church.
Blair Smith is a Northern Virginia native. She became a registered nurse in 2005 and spent several blessed years taking care of precious little ones in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Inova Children’s Hospital. It was there where she saw hundreds of preterm babies enter this world and thrive. In 2018, God called Blair to Southview Community Church where she served in the family ministry program as the Children’s Ministry Director. During that time, she walked alongside children as their faith flourished, led devoted volunteers, supported families and experienced tremendous growth in her own faith journey.
In September 2020, Blair joined Hope as the nurse manager. Working in the NICU and serving in ministry were wonderful stepping stones for this position. Blair is grateful to be a part of an organization that provides compassionate support and loving services to women facing an unplanned pregnancy. We are called to love one another and Blair is excited to share her love for Jesus with others because with Jesus, there is Hope.
Client Services Director
Madeleine is a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing. She has been passionate about the pro-life movement for as long as she can remember. Her heart for the Lord and dedication to conservative values has driven her to empower women and advocate fiercely for the rights of the unborn.
Prior to her time at Hope she worked in government account management but knew her true calling was elsewhere. She spent weekends attending pro-life marches, praying outside local abortion clinics, attending bible studies, and spreading awareness online about the true nature of abortion and its industry. She started at Hope in the Fall of 2021 in an effort to take her weekend passion and turn it into a full time career. She is here to educate, encourage, and empower women in all walks of life and diverse circumstances.
Haley is honored to serve Hope in Northern Virginia Inc., as the Development Director.
Originally from Oklahoma, Haley grew up in a strong Christian family on a ranch, riding horses and working cattle. With an ordained minister as a father, she spent much of her childhood on missions trips, learning to serve others with the message of Christ.
Haley met her husband, Devin, when they were introduced by their pastor in 2018.
Haley’s professional background is in major gifts fundraising. She worked for six years for Young America’s Foundation as a development officer raising funds for their student programs.
Haley has always had a heart for the pro-life movement, but pinpoints the origin of her passion for life back to one moment. During an internship in the summer of 2014, she had the opportunity to attend a pro-life rally at the steps of the Supreme Court awaiting the ruling on the Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. case. The moment that the supreme court intern ran down the steps to tell us that the court decided in favor of life was a moment she has never forgotten. Chanting and cheering with with pro-life activists gave Haley the dream that our generation could be the pro-life generation.
She began volunteering for Hope several years ago and fell in love with Hope’s ministry.
Haley is excited to serve Hope as the Development Director, helping to empower more women than ever before to choose life, and to find Hope in Jesus Christ.
